Events & Culture

Events in Cape Town are part of the city life. South Africans love participating in huge events such as the famous International Cape Town Jazz Festival which brings 37 000 people to the city; or a food event like the Taste of Cape Town for foodies. Capetonians are keen to go out and enjoy the party.

Sport is also very important in Cape Town. There are several big events such as the Cape Town marathon which takes place every September, around the 24th, South Africa’s Heritage Day. Thousands of spectators come to watch and support local and international runners on sunny days.

This is just a quick overview of what you can expect. On this page we list cultural events you can participate in, and discover and immerse yourself in South African cultural life. Please give us your opinion.
