There are many accommodation possibilities for your safari tour. Lodges, guest houses, hotels and backpackers will be delighted to welcome you. But what are the differences between these types of accommodation?
Lodges are usually designed to be close to nature. They are built with natural materials such as wood, stone and thatch.
Guest houses are generally private homes which have been converted into guest accommodation, and provide bed and breakfast. Sometimes you will find communal spaces such as lounges or pool areas.
Hotels are generally the largest kind of accommodation with several rooms and a common reception area. There are restaurants and bars, which are also accessible to the public. Hotels provide different facilities, such as gyms, swimming pools, business lounges and room service; and they are often members of hotel groups.
Backpackers – or hostels – target travellers with smaller or limited budgets, like the youth. The bedrooms are usually set up in a dormitory-style and bathrooms and toilets are shared. However, private room may be available, as well as meals.
